Take a multi-city lap around the Alps for a comprehensive understanding of the region’s people and traditions. From Munich’s Hofbräuhaus, where Mozart once wrote an opera, to the Floating City of Venice—which is full of some of the world’s most exquisite art and architecture—the history is as rich as the food. Before you leave, pause for reflection at Lucerne’s Lion Monument, commemorating Swiss Guards killed in the French Revolution, which Mark Twain described as “the most mournful and moving piece of stone in the world.”
