“Easy is comfortable, but difficult is more fulfilling.”

Mo-Yun Fong, Director of K-12 Education Outreach at Google, shared some inspiring words with hundreds of students and educators at the 2015 Global Student Leaders Summit in Davos, Switzerland. Through personal anecdotes and thought-provoking messages, Fong introduced the audience to a different side of computer science. While it is often thought of as “boring” and “difficult,” Fong identified computer science as a creative and rewarding field that can be learned by anyone. As “the backbone of innovation,” computer science is the key to solving the world’s problems.

GLOBAL STUDENT LEADERS SUMMITS These extraordinary events combine educational tours and a two–day leadership conference, tackling significant global issues in places where they come to life. You and your students learn from experts such as Al Gore, Jane Goodall and Sir Ken Robinson, and U.S. and local students work together to design and present their own solutions to the issue. Each Summit empowers your students today to start becoming the leaders of tomorrow. Upcoming Summits will tackle Global Citizenship in Peru and the Future of Food in Italy.
