Every EF tour offers academic credit opportunities

See the eligibility requirements above. We define Middle School Students as students in grades 6-8 (students must have graduated from 5th grade by the departure date of their tour. We define High School Students as students in grades 9-12 (students must have graduated from 8th grade by the departure date of their tour).

Yes! Any educator traveling on an EF educational tour is eligible to participate in the academic courses for educators.

Yes, The Global Student is a 3-credit undergraduate course designed for high school and undergraduate students.

No – while EF is accredited, it is not a post-secondary education institution and payments to EF do not constitute a qualified education expense under that plan.

The courses that carry SNHU credit are more difficult and time-consuming than the high school and professional learning courses. You can download the course syllabi by visiting www.eftours.com/credit to compare course requirements.

To successfully complete all pre-tour requirements, EF’s academic courses require the learner (student or educator) to be registered and actively participating in the course at least 30 days prior to tour.

The EF | Nobel Prize Museum Global Citizen Certificate program does not require pre-tour enrollment; however, the project must be submitted by 60 days after your return date from tour.

It is not possible to participate in EF’s academic courses after your tour. All courses have pre-tour and on-tour assignments that are required as part of the courses.

You may still submit a project as part of the EF | Nobel Prize Museum Global Citizen Certificate program even if you did not register prior to departure. Projects must be submitted within 60 days of your return date from tour.

It is up to the receiving school or district whether or not to accept the course. EF is accredited by five prestigious accreditation organizations, but some states and districts restrict schools from accepting academic credits that have not been approved by an in-state organization. We advise that students reach out to their high school counseling department or school administration prior to registering for the course in order to understand if the course will count toward graduation. The student may provide them with the course syllabus, a copy of their itinerary, and a sample course transcript.
